The scientists participating Horse Genome Workshop can meet every 6 months in 3 different venues. These meetings foster collaboration, encourage scientists to share information before publication and put pressure on the scientists to have something new every 6 months.
DR Havemeyer was a horsewoman and established a foundation to support horse research. This Foundation has conducted international workshops on horse genomics every two years since 1995.

DownloadThe USDA National Sponsored Research Project 8 provides funding to support workshops on horse genomics. We meet in Janaury, every year, in San Diego. This workshop has been ongoing since 1996.
ISAG was founded in the 1950s to conduct comparison tests for genetic markers in livestock. It has grown to embrace molecular genetics research in livestock. Horse genome workshops are held at bienniel conferences of this society
